Lahore, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President of the Pakistan Federation Baseball, has traveled to Taiwan to participate in the Executive Meeting of the Baseball Federation of Asia. During this significant gathering, Pakistan secured the hosting rights for the upcoming 16th West Asia Cup 2024, marking a pivotal moment for the sport in the region.
According to Pakistan Federation Baseball, the discussions in Taiwan were fruitful, with additional insights into upcoming events and cooperative initiatives. The meeting outlined the calendar for regional baseball, including the Under-18 Championship set for September in Taiwan and the Under-12 Championship in Japan this November.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah expressed optimism about Pakistan’s role as hosts and competitors, stating his confidence in successfully organizing the West Asia Cup and fielding competitive teams in the youth championships. He also highlighted a productive dialogue with Jefferey Koo Jr., President of the Baseball Federation of Asia, focusing on the future of Pakistan’s baseball scene, including the proposed Pakistan Baseball League.
The Pakistan Baseball President also showcased a colorful souvenir from the CM Punjab Baseball League, which was held two months ago at FC College Lahore, underscoring ongoing efforts to promote baseball in Pakistan.
