Lahore, August 18, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Karate Federation is organizing National Accredited Coaches Courses at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta. The Coaches Course of Lahore Chapter is started today at PSB Coaching Centre Lahore. The National Coaches Course has been designed based on the updated rules of the World Karate Federation (WKF). It will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of coaching, focusing on various techniques, strategies, and tactics employed in modern karate. Additionally, there will be a dedicated session on anti-doping measures to ensure that coaches are well-versed in promoting fair play and maintaining a clean sports environment.
91 Coaches from all over Punjab are participating in the course. The opening ceremony of the course was held today at PSB Coaching Centre Lahore. Mr. Muhammad Jahangir Chairman Pakistan Karate Federation was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. In his address, Mr. Jahangir commended the dedication and commitment shown by the participants in their pursuit of excellence in karate coaching. He highlighted the significance of continuous learning and professional development for coaches to ensure the growth and success of karate in Pakistan.
Following Mr. Jahangir’s opening speech, Course Directors Mr. Imtiaz Ali provided a comprehensive briefing on the role of coach. Ms. Quratulain delivered a detailed presentation on harassment in sports and emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe sports environment. Mr. Muhammad Nadeem briefed on latest changes in WKF competition rules.
Tomorrow Dr. Assad Abbas Secretary POA Medical Commission will deliver a lecture on Anti-doping and practical session of coaches will be held. The closing / certificate award ceremony will be held at 3:30 Pm on Sunday 20th August 2023 at PSB Coaching Centre Lahore. Mr. Muhamamd Khalid Mehmood Secretary General Pakistan Olympic Association will be the chief guest on this occasion and he will award the certificate to the successful coaches.
