Islamabad: A delegation from leading Malaysian and Indonesian universities visited the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) to explore prospects for enhanced academic cooperation, joint initiatives, and international programs set to launch in Pakistan next year.
The delegation met with President IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, in the council hall to discuss potential collaborations. Representatives from Universitas Airlangga presented plans for an international program in Pakistan, emphasizing the need for close collaboration with IIUI. Meanwhile, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) highlighted its extensive network of campuses and centers of excellence.
Prof. Dr. Alahmed expressed optimism about the collaborative opportunities in fields such as psychology, sociology, engineering, and sustainable development goals (SDGs). He noted the potential for student and faculty exchange programs to further strengthen ties.
The meeting was attended by various IIUI officials, including Vice President Research & Enterprise, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, and Dean Faculty of Languages and Literature, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Janjua.
The delegation’s visit included a tour of the female campus’s academic and research facilities, led by Prof. Dr. Janjua, and discussions on cooperation with the CIRBS. Both sides concluded the visit with a commitment to strengthening academic linkages and expanding research collaboration.
