Lahore National Hockey Team Celebrates Return to Form After 13 Years

Lahore, Dr. Fareed Ahmed Paracha, the central leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, praised the national hockey team for their outstanding performance, which has led to the team regaining its prominent position in international hockey after 13 years. The team’s success comes as they remain undefeated in the Azlan Shah tournament, with the final match scheduled against Japan on Sunday.

According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Dr. Paracha highlighted that hockey, being the national sport, deserves as much support and recognition as cricket. He urged the government to extend full patronage to the hockey team, including cash prizes and honors, similar to those awarded to cricket teams. Dr. Paracha expressed the nation’s collective hopes and prayers for the team’s success in the upcoming final and commended the players for their hard work and dedication that have revitalized the sport in Pakistan.
