Karachi, The economic hub of Pakistan, Karachi, with a population of over three crores, is experiencing a critical shortage of gas facilities, as highlighted by Nargis Khan, the leader of the Karachi Women’s Wing and candidate of PS-91 of the Pasban Democratic Party. The party is calling for immediate action to address the city’s longstanding issues with gas supply.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, Nargis Khan criticized the failure of the city’s politicians, who have been in power for the last three to four decades, to resolve the gas crisis in Karachi. Despite being the highest revenue-contributing city in the country, Karachi residents are facing severe difficulties due to the lack of gas, which affects their daily life and safety.
Khan pointed out that some areas of the city experience no gas supply from 10 pm to the morning, while others face a complete shutdown throughout the day. The alternative use of LPG cylinders is not only expensive but also poses safety risks due to the potential for cylinder bursts. Khan urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh to take immediate notice of the worst gas load shedding in the city.
The statement also emphasized the broader struggles of Karachi’s citizens, who face numerous problems including electricity, roads, education, health, and employment. These issues become prominent every five years during elections, but the city has seen little improvement. Khan accused the political elites of engaging in corruption and looting, failing to deliver on their promises to the people of Karachi.
The Pasban Democratic Party, positioning itself as a new political force and a ray of hope, is mobilizing the citizens of Karachi to unite for their rights. The party aims to transform Karachi into a mega city, free from the grasp of corrupt politicians and elites who have historically neglected the city’s needs.
The statement concluded with a call for the government to take immediate action to alleviate the gas crisis and hold those responsible for the unannounced shutdowns accountable. The Pasban Democratic Party is dedicated to uniting citizens to protect their rights and address the challenges they face.
