Lahore, In a crucial meeting held in Karachi, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Naib Amir and Chairman of the Standing Council of Political and National Affairs, Liaquat Baloch, voiced concerns over the current state of lawlessness, constitutional violations, and a severe economic crisis affecting Pakistan. The meeting brought together prominent leaders from various political and religious organizations to discuss the nation’s pressing issues.
According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Baloch’s address emphasized the extensive challenges facing the country, including political instability, economic downturn, and strained civil-military relations. He pointed out that these issues are fostering an environment of mistrust and uncertainty, placing unprecedented pressure on the judiciary and eroding public trust in key institutions, particularly the Pakistan Army, due to its perceived political involvement.
The discussions also covered the frictions between the federation and the provinces, which Baloch described as a threat to national security. He criticized the manipulation of recent election results, suggesting that such actions undermine democracy and could lead to further unrest and lawlessness.
Further, Baloch highlighted the upcoming Gaza Million March in Karachi, led by Jamaat Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, as a significant event to protest the ongoing violence in Gaza and Israel’s disregard for international ceasefire agreements. He condemned the global response, particularly from the United States and European nations, accusing them of supporting Israel’s actions against the Palestinians and ignoring public opinion which could potentially lead to backlash within their own borders.
In addition to national issues, Baloch expressed solidarity with journalists against government attempts to impose restrictions through PEMRA laws and the PICA Act, asserting Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to supporting freedom of the press.
The meeting underscored the urgent need for all Pakistani institutions and leaders to respect constitutional boundaries and address the public’s grievances to avert further crises and ensure the country’s stability and security.
