IWMF Accepts Applications for Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship Program

New york, The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) announced the opening of applications for the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship Program, a prestigious initiative supporting women journalists focusing on human rights and social justice. The program, named after the late Elizabeth Neuffer, provides an academic and professional platform at MIT’s Center for International Studies and includes internships at The Boston Globe and The New York Times.

According to Pak NGOs, the fellowship aims to empower female and nonbinary journalists with at least three years of professional experience, offering a pathway to enhance their skills in human rights and social justice reporting. The fellowship offers a unique combination of academic research and practical experience, allowing participants to engage with both theoretical and applied aspects of journalism. In addition to internships and coursework, the program includes a monthly stipend, housing, travel expenses, and health insurance, although it does not provide a salary.

The fellowship honors Elizabeth Neuffer, a courageous journalist and IWMF award winner who lost her life while reporting in Iraq. By fostering the development of journalists who share Neuffer’s commitment to human rights and social justice, the IWMF continues to advance her legacy. The selected fellow will embark on this transformative journey in Boston, transitioning to New York, with the goal of producing impactful journalism under their byline across various media outlets.
