Islamia University Bahawalpur Hosts Seminar on Drug Use Risks

Karachi, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, recently conducted an awareness seminar on the risks and consequences of drug use at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The event, part of a series organized by a special committee, aimed to educate students and faculty members about the dangers of drug abuse.

According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, the committee led by Prof. Dr. Fayaz ud din Ahmed, hosted the seminar at the Baghdad ul-Jadeed campus. Medical Officer Dr. Waheed Mumtaz Abbasi provided detailed insights into the mental and physical health impacts of drug use. The seminar also saw participation from Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman Department of Social Work, and other distinguished faculty members and students.

The event highlighted the university’s commitment to tackling drug abuse issues and fostering a healthy educational environment. The seminar series is part of a broader initiative to discourage drug use among the youth and to promote awareness of its adverse effects.
