IIUI and NAHE Launch National Program to Enhance Higher Education Management

Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), has inaugurated a National Outreach Program for Higher Education Management. This five-day leadership training initiative, which commenced on January 26, 2026, is designed to enhance the administrative and leadership skills of university officers in grades 17-18.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the program is part of the Higher Education Development Project (HEDP) and aims to bolster the management teams of public sector universities. The training focuses on modern administrative practices, strategic planning, financial governance, professional communication, and the integration of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence. It also emphasizes personal and professional growth.

At the inaugural session, Dr. Fauzia Janjua, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Literature, encouraged participants to adopt a learning-oriented mindset. She underscored the importance of utilizing the training to transform their professional conduct and praised NAHE's role in capacity building. Dr. Janjua also suggested the development of a women empowerment training initiative through a partnership between IIUI and NAHE.

Syed Hassan Aftab, Vice President Administration and Finance at IIUI, expressed gratitude to NAHE and HEC, highlighting the significance of the program as a component of continuous learning. He remarked on the enduring impact of such training sessions in enhancing professional understanding among attendees.

Ms. Saadia Bukhari, Deputy Director of NAHE, outlined the program’s objectives and outreach strategy, noting that the modules have been meticulously crafted to address critical administrative areas, including financial management and AI-driven workplace efficiency.

The event was also attended by Mr. Sohail Raza Mangi, Assistant Director of NAHE, and concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Saima, the Coordinator of the training program. The initiative underscores IIUI's dedication to fostering ethical, transparent, and effective administrative practices in higher education.
