Lahore: The University of Central Punjab (UCP) has been chosen to participate in the Punjab Higher Education Commission's (PHEC) Research and Development Cluster focused on minerals and rare earth metals. This initiative includes collaborations with the University of the Punjab and the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, leading the Department of Basic and Applied Chemistry at UCP, will serve as the Principal Investigator for this project.
According to University of Central Punjab, the cluster aims to foster high-impact research and technological innovation in strategic mineral resources. This collaborative effort seeks to leverage the research capabilities of Punjab's leading academic institutions to address national priorities related to mineral exploration, value addition, and sustainable utilization.
