Karachi, August 17, 2023 (PPI-OT): Indus Hospital and health Network (IHHN) held Hand Hygiene Sessions at DHACSS Phase 7 and Phase 8. The sessions were conducted by senior students from the Indus College of Nursing and Midwifery and aimed to promote hand hygiene by teaching children the correct way to wash their hands in seven steps. The team gave practical demonstrations and then gave students the chance to practice the steps with sanitizers. At DHACSS Phase 8, kids from kindergarten to grade 3 joined sessions led by Saeed Anwar, Ateeqa Anwar, and Nida Noor.
Meanwhile, at DHACSS Phase 7, it was classes 1 to 3 who learned from Fariha Aziz, Arshma Yameen, and Iqra Fareed. Through these activities IHHN aims to control the spread of infectious diseases. By educating children early on how to keep themselves clean from a young age they can stay healthy for longer and avoid many preventable illnesses thus creating a healthier society.
