Karachi, The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the nominees for its May Player of the Month awards, spotlighting standout performances from the recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and other international fixtures.
According to International Cricket Council, the Men’s Player of the Month shortlist features Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi, Gudakesh Motie of the West Indies, and Ireland’s Lorcan Tucker. Each has made significant contributions to their teams through remarkable performances in May. For the Women’s Player of the Month, nominees include Chamari Athapaththu of Sri Lanka, Kathryn Bryce from Scotland, and England’s Sophie Ecclestone, each of whom has excelled in international play, particularly during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier.
The voting process involves both an independent ICC Voting Academy and fan votes, combining to determine the winners who will be announced next week. This dual voting system allows for broad participation from the cricket community and ensures a diverse range of inputs in selecting the most deserving players.
