Government has made life miserable for the masses: Sirajul Haq

Lahore, August 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Sirajul Haq on Monday said negative policies of the government have made life miserable for the masses resulting in unemployment and poverty. He said why inflation is skyrocketing and the trade deficit is increasing if the economy was growing as per the claims of the government.

Sirajul Haq said that exchange rate erosion has raised concerns while dependence on borrowing is increasing which is a sign of a plunging economy that is contrary to the tall claims of government functionaries. He said this while talking to media men after inquiring about the health of former Nazim of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Hafeez-ur-Rehman.

He said that not a single sector of the economy has been improved and it has failed to control price hikes as the mafia is getting influential by the passage of every day to bleed masses white for profit. Tsunami Sarkar is devastating everything and robbing masses to please nobility which is fanning unrest among the people representing all walks of life, he added.

The JI Ameer said that the gulf is widening between rich and poor, problems of masses are increasing while relief to poor is limited to rosy statements. The government is focused on political frictions, politics of vendetta, false propaganda, and strangulating media while ignoring the plight of the poor.

JI fully believes independent media and freedom of expression which are the key instruments for the development of a democratic society and put the country on a path of progress but the situation on the ground is different, he regretted. We want to transform Pakistan into a welfare state, where everyone will have equal rights and the law would be equal for every citizen, he said.
