Faculty of Chemistry Department author in multiple international journals

Lahore, February 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):The faculty members of the Department of Chemistry, at the Sargodha Campus, UOL, published several research papers in different international journals in the year 2021 and 2022. In the month of November 2021, Ms. Tehmeena Ishaq (Lecturer) published her research article entitled “A perspective on possible amendments in semiconductors for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen generation by water splitting” in an International Journal of Hydrogen Energy. The paper advocated the effectiveness of photocatalytic hydrogen production by solar irradiation to procure an energy generation alternative which will surely be valuable for industrial scale hydrogen production especially in countries like Pakistan.

In the month of January, 2022, Dr. Bushra Nisar (Assistant Professor) published her paper titled as “Synthesis and antioxidant screening of Novel indole amines” in the Journal of the Iranian Chemical Society (JICS). This paper highlighted the DPPH scavenging ability of indole amines which makes these novel moieties worthy to be used in cancer prevention and food protection against air. JICS is an international journal covering general fields of chemistry and publishes high quality original papers with experimental, theoretical and applied research related to all branches of chemistry.

Dr. Misbah Ur Rehman (Assistant Professor) also published a research paper on “Novel quadrotor shaped photovoltaic materials: first example of fused ring non fullerene acceptors with proficient photovoltaic properties for high performance solar cells” in the Journal of Molecular Modeling. The paper emphasized on fused-ring electron acceptors as potential agents in organic photovoltaic devices with high efficiency in solar cells. The Journal of Molecular Modeling focuses on hardcore modeling, publishing high-quality research and reports.
