Karachi, In a bid to provide practical insights into the world of global media and journalism, the Department of English at a local university organized a visit to Dunya News Media House on October 23, 2023. The event marked the commencement of ‘Global Media and Information Literacy Week’, with students gaining firsthand experience of various media operations and the intricacies of information dissemination.
According to a news release by the Capital University of Science and Technology, the students were taken through different sections of Dunya News Media House, including the studio, to observe the use of technology in media and experience the dynamic environment of a newsroom. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world media practices, providing the students a comprehensive understanding of the field.
During the visit, a Question and Answer (Q/A) session was also conducted, allowing students to engage directly with media professionals. This interactive segment offered the students a platform to inquire about different aspects of media and journalism, seek advice, and explore potential career paths in the field. The media professionals shared their experiences and insights, contributing to the students’ learning experience.
