Department of Civil Engineering Holds 3rd Conference on Sustainability in Civil Engineering

Islamabad, August 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Department of Civil Engineering successfully organized its 3rd Conference on Sustainability in Civil Engineering (CSCE’21) on August 11, 2021. The conference was conducted online in three parallel sessions using MS Teams. The conference started with the recitation of Holy Quran. Worthy Vice Chancellor Dr. Mansoor Ahmed addressed the opening ceremony. This was followed by keynote speakers where four keynote speakers shared their research experience with the attendees. The session ended with the concluding remarks by respected Dean Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Taj. After the keynote session, the parallel sessions were conducted throughout the day as per the conference program.

This year, we had seven renowned keynote speakers from various Civil Engineering fields. A total of 188 manuscripts were received from different countries around the world including UK, USA, KSA, Hong Kong, Turkey, China and Pakistan. All papers underwent a comprehensive and critical double-blind review process. The review committee comprised of 54 PhDs serving in industry and academia of UK, Hungary, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Poland, Germany, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, KSA, Oman, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. After the screening and review process, 62 papers were selected to be presented in Conference (39 for oral presentations and 23 for poster presentation). Out of these 62 papers, 60 papers were presented (37 through oral presentations and 23 through poster presentations).

The main focus of CSCE’21 was to highlight sustainability related to the field of civil engineering. It aimed at providing a platform for civil engineers from academia as well as industry to share their practical experiences and different research findings in their relevant specializations. The conference was concluded at 5:15 pm with special thanks to the participants and key note speakers.
