Lahore, Chaudhry Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust (CRAMT), based in Township, Lahore, has been a cornerstone of charitable healthcare and education since its inception in 1976. Founded in memory of Chaudhry Rahmat Ali, a key figure in the Pakistan movement, the Trust today announced its ongoing commitment to providing medical and educational services to the underserved communities.
According to Aman Foundation, CRAMT has been managing a hospital since 1985, which includes an Outpatient Department (OPD) offering free medical consultation and medication to deserving patients. The Trust oversees three educational institutions comprising Boys High School, Girls High School, and an Early Learning school, all established in the early 1990s on purpose-built campuses. Additionally, a Mosque and a residential religious education school named Daar-ul-Uloom were also set up during the same period. In the year 2023, the hospital served close to 200,000 patients, while the schools collectively boast a student body of over 2,300.
The Trust’s work is recognized and registered with the Punjab Charity Commission (PCC) and the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), and it operates a well-defined system for managing donations and funds. Donations to the Trust are tax-exempt under section 2 (36) of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
Over the last four decades, CRAMT has expanded its range of services and looks to continue this growth. The Trust has reached out to the public to seek contributions that will support the ongoing operations and assist in launching new service projects. The Trust’s efforts are not only a testament to its founder’s legacy but also an invitation to the public to be part of a continuous social contribution.
