According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Bukhari mentioned the importance of reducing chaos and maintaining decorum in parliament to ensure that all parties are granted their constitutional rights. He highlighted that the People’s Party supports the Pakistan Muslim League-Government (PML-G) for the continuation of the parliamentary system, stressing that agriculture is the backbone of the economy. Bukhari noted that the increase in wheat support prices during the People’s Party era led to the country becoming self-sufficient in wheat production, and suggested that similar agricultural policies could help reduce national debt and improve the economy.

Lahore, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, has reiterated his party’s commitment to addressing public issues through both public and domestic courts. He called for the completion of the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project and criticized the United States for interfering in Pakistan’s internal affairs. Rehman also urged the protesting PDM parties to apologize for contributing to the fall of the previous government and to clarify their objections to recent elections.

According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Rehman spoke at a “Meet the Press” event in Mansoura, where he announced that Jamaat-e-Islami would take the issue of election rigging to the Supreme Court. He expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the recent elections and criticized the PML-N, PPP, and MQM for failing to address issues of governance and corruption. Rehman stated that Jamaat-e-Islami plans no political or electoral alliances, but will focus on constitutional and democratic reforms.

Rehman also criticized the governance system in place, stating that reforms are urgently needed to avoid further economic and political instability. He urged a return to constitutional principles and suggested electoral reforms, including electronic voting machines and proportional representation, to strengthen democracy and reduce the dominance of feudal lords.

President Zardari Calls for Unified Efforts to Eradicate Malaria in Pakistan, Islamabad


Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the need for a comprehensive and unified approach to combat malaria across Pakistan in his address on World Malaria Day, calling on all sectors of society to intensify their efforts towards making Pakistan malaria-free.



According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari, in his message, urged provincial governments, healthcare providers, NGOs, private entities, philanthropists, community leaders, and media to collaborate extensively. He highlighted the importance of raising awareness about malaria control and improving diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to alleviate the suffering of affected individuals. The President underlined that malaria is preventable, diagnosable, and treatable, demanding collective action.



The theme for World Malaria Day 2024, “Advancing health equity, gender equality, and human rights,” reflects the broad-based effort required to tackle the disease. President Zardari also detailed the government’s commitment to the T3 Strategy: TEST, TREAT, TRACK, a new initiative under the Global Malaria Programme aimed at ensuring that every suspected case of malaria is tested, confirmed, and treated, with rigorous tracking to inform policy decisions.



He expressed his satisfaction with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination’s approach through the Common Management Unit-CMU Malaria, which focuses on both prevention and treatment, paying special attention to vulnerable groups. The President also mentioned the setbacks in malaria control due to the 2022 floods, which significantly increased malaria cases and impeded past progress. He called for a concerted effort from all stakeholders, including international partners, to address this urgent challenge.
