University of Sargodha Workshop Emphasizes Audit Compliance and Financial Discipline

SARGODHA: The University of Sargodha held an "Audit Paras Resolution Workshop" to train its faculty and administrative staff on the timely resolution of audit objections and regulatory compliance. The workshop aimed to reinforce financial discipline, transparency, and accountability within the institution by providing comprehensive training on maintaining documentary evidence and adhering to stipulated timelines.

According to University of Sargodha, the Human Resource Center hosted the event, which saw participation from a significant number of deans, directors, chairpersons, and heads of teaching and administrative departments. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, the chief guest, emphasized the importance of compliance with laws and procedures for effective institutional governance. He noted the university's efforts in digitalizing record-management and procurement systems to bolster transparency and accountability.

During the workshop's first session, Director Procurement and Stores Prof. Dr. Irfan Shehzad provided insights into "Understanding Audit Paras and Root Cause Analysis." He elaborated on the regulatory frameworks like PPRA, FBR, HEC, and the University Financial Rules 2012, underscoring the need for regulatory compliance and financial discipline. He highlighted the university's recent digital procurement measures and centralized authority as key improvements in transparency and monitoring.

In the second session, Government of Pakistan Audit Officer Khurram Shehzad Gondal discussed "Documentation & Evidence Management" and "Follow-up, Compliance & Audit Closure." He stressed the significance of complete records for timely audit resolution and the role of digital records in enhancing transparency. Gondal urged the need for prompt follow-up and compliance with PPRA, FBR, and Auditor General of Punjab requirements for effective audit closure. Director HRDC, Amjad Hussain Janjua, also addressed the participants, reinforcing the workshop's objectives.
