Bosnia’s Grand Mufti Enhances Educational Cooperation with IIUI in Islamabad

Islamabad, In a significant move to bolster educational and cultural ties, the Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Husein ef Kavazovic, visited the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) to meet with Rector Professor Dr. Samina Malik. The meeting, aimed at fostering bilateral relations between IIUI and Bosnian academic institutions, focused on collaboration in Islamic studies, training of religious leaders, and legal education.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the discussions highlighted the mutual interests of both parties in enhancing educational partnerships. The Grand Mufti praised IIUI for its contributions to the Muslim community, noting the benefits that Bosnian scholars and officials have gained from the university’s programs. The meeting underscored the shared objectives and deep-rooted friendship between Bosnia and Pakistan, supported by the attendance of the Bosnian Ambassador to Pakistan, Emin Cohodarevic.

An agreement was reached to formalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for educational cooperation and exchange of expertise, marking a concrete step toward closer academic collaboration. During her interaction with the Grand Mufti, Rector Malik conveyed her congratulations on his upcoming Sitare e Quaid e Azam Award, illustrating the respect and recognition he has earned from Pakistan. She also shared insights into IIUI’s mission, academic offerings, and its diverse international community.

The visit was commemorated with the exchange of gifts, including a rare manuscript of the Holy Quran presented by the Grand Mufti to the university, symbolizing the deep cultural and educational bonds between the two institutions.
