Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has reported a significant decline in the number of registered voters nationwide, with a decrease of over 580,000 voters since May 2026. The total number of registered voters now stands at 136.57 million, down from 137.16 million.

According to Free and Fair Election Network, the latest voter statistics, detailed on the ECP's website and updated as of July 2, 2026, highlight a reduction in both male and female voters. The current electoral rolls list 72.83 million male voters and 63.73 million female voters, a decrease from the figures released on May 7, 2026, which reported 73.28 million male and 63.87 million female voters.

The province of Punjab experienced the most significant reduction, with 478,909 fewer registered voters, including 345,879 male and 133,030 female voters. Sindh followed with a decline of 97,216 voters, comprising 80,560 male and 16,656 female voters. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, despite an overall decrease of 9,046 registered voters, there was an increase of 7,838 female voters, which partially mitigated the decline. Balochistan saw a net decrease of 2,226 voters, with a reduction of 6,518 male voters countered by the addition of 4,292 female voters. The Islamabad Capital Territory recorded a decline of 2,061 registered voters, including 1,121 male and 940 female voters.

The adjustments to the electoral rolls are in accordance with Section 36(b) of the Elections Act 2017, which mandates the periodic revision of voter lists, allowing for the removal of names of deceased individuals or those disqualified from voting. Furthermore, under Section 40, the ECP can order the exclusion of any voter deemed disqualified.
