Sibi: Sibi's voter registration rate has reached 49% of its projected 2025 population, falling short of the national average of 54%. This discrepancy highlights ongoing challenges in the region's voter registration efforts.
According to Free and Fair Election Network: The data, released by the Election Commission of Pakistan, is based on electoral roll statistics and population estimates from the 2023 Digital Census. The 2025 population estimate for Sibi is 241,320, derived from a 3.76% annual growth rate applied to the 2023 census population of 224,148. The district has 119,354 registered voters, with males comprising 54.9% and females 45.1%. Male voter registration stands at 53%, while female registration is at 46%.
Sibi ranks 125th out of 136 districts in terms of population and 86th nationally by voter registration rate. Within Balochistan, it holds the second position out of 34 districts. The district's below-average registration is attributed to logistical challenges in reaching scattered populations, particularly in remote areas, and issues with the registration status of nomadic communities.
The gender gap in voter registration is notable, with female voters making up 45.1% of the electorate, indicating a 9.9% disparity. Prioritizing targeted outreach to increase female voter registration is essential in preparation for the upcoming general elections.
