ISLAMABAD: A recent report on the 362nd session of the Senate has highlighted significant variations in attendance among its members. During the session, which included six sittings from June 10 to June 18, 2026, only 32 of the 95 members were present for every sitting, while six members were completely absent.
According to Free and Fair Election Network, the first sitting witnessed the highest attendance, with 72 senators, representing 76 percent of the membership, in attendance. In contrast, the fifth and sixth sittings saw a drop, with only 64 senators, or 67 percent, present. The report also noted that 63 senators, accounting for 66 percent, missed at least one sitting.
Within the cabinet, one federal minister managed to attend all sessions, whereas another did not attend any. Additionally, the leader of the house participated in two sittings, while the Leader of the Opposition was present for five sittings.
