Karachi Cotton Association Calls for Immediate Compliance with Sindh High Court Order

KARACHI: The Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) has urged authorities to comply with a Sindh High Court order to restore operations at the Cotton Exchange Building, which has been closed for over seven months, affecting the association’s activities and its stakeholders. The continued closure has led to significant financial losses and disruptions in Pakistan's cotton industry.

According to Karachi Cotton Association, despite the Sindh High Court's directive, the Evacuee Trust Property Board has not returned the building to the KCA. The Cotton Exchange Building, a historic landmark, was sealed in December 2025, halting KCA’s administrative functions and impacting various businesses, including cotton traders and exporters. The KCA emphasized the importance of the building in regulating market operations, resolving disputes, and supporting the cotton trade.

The association highlighted the detrimental impact of the building's closure on the national economy and reiterated the need for immediate compliance with the court order. It stressed that the restoration of operations is crucial for the continuation of vital activities within Pakistan's textile supply chain.
