LAHORE: Punjab University Centre for Clinical Psychology, in partnership with the Phoenix Foundation, organized a consultative meeting aimed at developing reformative strategies for drug demand reduction. The meeting was chaired by Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali and attended by various stakeholders, including Vice Chancellor of Lahore Garrison University Maj. General (r) Muhammad Khalil Dar, Punjab's DG Health Dr. Khalid Mahmood, and other notable figures from the health and education sectors.
According to University of the Punjab, the meeting brought together representatives from different sectors, including the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force, the Directorate of Public Instructions, and other eminent academicians and clinicians from across the country. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali expressed gratitude to the attendees for addressing the pressing issue and proposing remedial measures to combat drug demand. Dr. Saima Dawood, Director of the Centre for Clinical Psychology, outlined the Center's initiatives and expressed appreciation for the participants' dedication to tackling one of society's significant social and mental health challenges.
Dr. Noor Zaman Rafique, CEO of the Phoenix Foundation, along with Rashida Saif Niazi, emphasized the meeting's objectives, which are centered on formulating practical and sustainable strategies for reducing drug demand in Pakistan. The meeting provided a platform for participants to share their insights and suggestions, aiming to achieve the collective goal of developing effective reformative strategies.
