IIUI Celebrates Qur’an Memorizers at Faisal Mosque Ceremony

Islamabad: The Da’wah Academy of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) recently held an esteemed ceremony at the Faisal Mosque to honor those who have memorized the Holy Qur’an, known as huffaz, and their dedicated teachers. The event, titled “Honoring the Memorizers of the Holy Qur’an,” was organized by the university’s Department of Qur’an Memorization.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmad, President of IIUI, as the chief guest. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Director General of the Da’wah Academy, presided over the session. In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Ilyas acknowledged the significant contributions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the construction of Faisal Mosque and the growth of IIUI, emphasizing the mosque’s role in promoting Islamic moderation.

Prof. Dr. Alahmad offered congratulations to the students, their parents, and teachers, highlighting the spiritual importance of memorizing the Qur’an. He stressed that the true benefits of memorization are achieved through genuine devotion, adherence to the Sunnah, and deep reflection on the Qur’an’s meanings.

The President paid tribute to the late King Faisal of Saudi Arabia for his service to the Muslim community and expressed gratitude to the current Saudi leadership for their ongoing support of Faisal Mosque and IIUI.

Coinciding with Pakistan’s Independence Day, Prof. Dr. Alahmad extended congratulations to the nation’s citizens, leadership, and armed forces for their commitment to truth and justice. He also praised the Da’wah Academy and media for their efforts in organizing the event.

The ceremony concluded with a prayer for Pakistan’s stability and the success of the global Muslim community. Prof. Dr. Alahmad encouraged the young huffaz to continue spreading the message of peace and balance, stating that memorizing the Qur’an is a lifelong commitment to embodying its teachings.
