Lahore: The Men’s National Selection Committee of Pakistan has revealed the squads for the upcoming T20I tri-series and the Asia Cup, both slated to be held in the United Arab Emirates. The tri-series, featuring Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the UAE, will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from August 29 to September 7.
The Asia Cup, an eight-team ACC T20I tournament, will be staged in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 9 to 28. Pakistan has been placed in Group ‘A’ alongside India, Oman, and the UAE.
The 17-member squad for Pakistan includes Salman Ali Agha as captain, along with players such as Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, and Haris Rauf, among others. The team also features Mohammad Haris as the wicket-keeper.
The tri-series schedule at Sharjah Cricket Stadium sees Pakistan facing Afghanistan on August 29, followed by a match against the UAE on August 30. The final of the tri-series is set for September 7.
In the ACC Asia Cup, Pakistan’s fixtures include matches against Oman on September 12, India on September 14, and the UAE on September 17. The Super Fours and Final will take place between September 20 and September 28 in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
These tournaments are crucial for Pakistan as they prepare to face strong competition in the region.
