Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of acting as the political wing of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), alleging that it has equipped a “jihadist squad” with weapons and other arms.
According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Bokhari also stated that the PTI’s actions have undermined the federation by using the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a pawn.
Bokhari asserted that a significant majority, 90%, of PTI members oppose an upcoming protest scheduled for November 24. She highlighted internal dissent within the party, pointing to Bushra Bibi’s leadership style as a source of division, with members Aliya Khan and Sher Afzal Marwat openly challenging her authority. Bokhari remarked that Punjab assembly members have rejected Bushra Bibi’s leadership.
The minister claimed that a prisoner from Adiala Jail is inciting the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against the federation. She expressed concern that children, instead of pursuing education and modern skills, are being armed by the so-called “Fitna Group” to engage in conflict with the state.
Bokhari concluded by warning against underestimating the state’s ability to manage public disorder, asserting that authorities are well-prepared to handle such challenges.
