Governor Kundi Challenges Chief Minister of KPK to Public Debate, Highlights Youth and Sports Development Issues

Islamabad, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has issued a public challenge to the Chief Minister of KPK for a debate on any platform, emphasizing the need for improved sports facilities and transparency in educational appointments in the province.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Governor Kundi expressed concerns about the lack of sporting events and inadequate development of sports infrastructure in KPK, which he believes are essential for the youth’s development. Highlighting the stalled construction of a cricket stadium since 2017 and the absence of major cricket matches for 15 years, Kundi detailed plans to revitalize cricket, football, hockey, and javelin competitions to engage the province’s youth and women more actively.

In a broader critique of provincial governance, Kundi accused the current administration of failing to finalize the appointment of vice chancellors for 26 universities, leading to a prevalence of acting VCs. He vowed to conduct audits of the universities and investigate illegal recruitments, signaling a push for greater accountability in educational institutions.

The governor also addressed political controversies, criticizing the Chief Minister’s management and rhetoric. He appealed to Maulana Fazlur Rahman, leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl party, urging him to return assets allegedly taken from PTI if they form an alliance.
