University of Chitral organized a one Day Conference on “Reform Manifesto: Transforming Economy and Society”

Chitral, The Department of ORIC at the University of Chitral hosted a one-day conference on June 3, 2024, focusing on the critical economic and societal changes needed for Pakistan. Titled “Reform Manifesto: Transforming Economy and Society,” the event was held in collaboration with the Pakistan Institute of Development Economy (PIDE) and brought together leading academics and experts to deliberate on transformative reforms.

According to University of Chitral, the conference was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahab, Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, with Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ul Haq, Vice Chancellor of PIDE, serving as the Guest of Honor. The discussions began with a keynote address by Dr. Nadeem Ul Haq, who analyzed Pakistan’s economic challenges and global economic trends, proposing a series of potential solutions. This was followed by a presentation from Dr. Dur-e-Nayab, who emphasized the importance of social unity and collaboration in achieving societal and economic transformation.

The conference also featured contributions from various other distinguished academics and professionals, including a robust discussion on the role of academic institutions in fostering economic development and societal reform. The event concluded with a ceremony distributing shields and certificates to participants, recognizing their contributions to the dialogue on reform.

Additionally, the University of Chitral and PIDE signed a memorandum of understanding to further academic collaboration and research initiatives, aimed at supporting ongoing and future reform efforts. This partnership underscores the commitment of both institutions to work collaboratively towards the transformation of Pakistan’s economy and society.
