Rawalpindi, Over the past three months, the Punjab Arts Council in Rawalpindi has become a vibrant center for literary activities, hosting more than 20 events that celebrate local literature and poetry. These events include regular poetry sessions, book launches, and memorials, all aimed at enriching the cultural landscape of the region.
According to Punjab Arts Council, Director Sajjad Hussain emphasized the council’s role in nurturing literary talent and intellect within the community. He noted the diverse range of activities, including the weekly gatherings of Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq, the inauguration of the Allama Iqbal Public Library, and a notable two-day literary conference, the Punjab Rawal Festival. These initiatives highlight literature’s crucial role in reflecting and shaping societal values and histories.
The Council also supports local writers and poets through financial assistance from the Punjab Writers Welfare Fund, demonstrating its commitment to fostering a thriving literary environment. Hussain reiterated the council’s dedication to continuing these efforts, ensuring that literature remains a vital, accessible facet of life in Rawalpindi.
