Edhi Week Celebration: NTU Community Services Society

Faisalabad, The National Textile University (NTU) Community Services Society, in collaboration with the NTU Debating Club, Textile Design, Literary and Wings Society, hosted the Edhi Week celebration from May 19 to May 21, 2024. The event was dedicated to honoring the legacy of Abdul Sattar Edhi, Pakistan’s revered philanthropist.

According to National Textile University, the celebration was designed to inspire students to embrace the philanthropic values demonstrated by Edhi. Throughout the three-day event, participants engaged in various activities including sketches, declamation contests, and quiz tournaments, all aimed at fostering a spirit of service and altruism among the student body. The culmination of Edhi Week was marked by an annual awards ceremony where Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Iqbal, Madam Nadia Shamim, Assistant Director of Student Affairs, and Abuzar Khan, President of the Community Services Society, honored both active society members and competition winners for their contributions.

Additionally, a memorial candle-lighting vigil was held, serving as a poignant tribute to Edhi’s enduring impact on humanitarian efforts and as a call to action for students to support societal welfare on a larger scale.
