Department of Electrical Engineering’s Industrial Visit to Nandi Pur Power Plant

Lahore, The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Central Punjab organized a pivotal industrial visit to the Nandi Pur Power Plant on May 24, 2024. The visit was part of the Fall 2020 batch’s practical learning curriculum, designed to provide students with direct experience in the operational aspects of a power plant.

According to University of Central Punjab, the visit allowed students to explore the combined cycle thermal power plant, the switchyard, and the run-of-canal hydel plant. Guided by Engr. Naveed, the Plant Manager at Nandi Pur, and his team, the visit provided an immersive learning experience, demonstrating the practical implementation of theoretical knowledge learned in classrooms.

The interaction with the power plant’s operational staff and the firsthand exposure to the plant’s machinery and systems were intended to bridge the gap between academic studies and real-world applications. These industrial visits are a cornerstone of the university’s Electrical Engineering program, aiming to prepare students for their future careers by enhancing their understanding of industry operations and challenges.
