UET Lahore Hosts International Seminar on Sustainable Cement-less Recycled Aggregate Concrete

Lahore, The University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, recently conducted a significant one-day international seminar focused on the development of sustainable cement-less recycled aggregate concrete in Pakistan. This event, held as part of the Higher Education Commission’s funded National Research Program for Universities, spotlighted innovative construction materials and their crucial role in addressing global environmental challenges.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the seminar, titled “Development of Cement-less Recycled Aggregate Concrete in Pakistan: A Sustainable Approach,” brought together experts and academics from Australia, Japan, and Pakistan. The discussions revolved around the pivotal role of sustainable building materials in combating global warming and climate change. The seminar was not only a forum for scholarly exchange but also a demonstration of UET Lahore’s commitment to pioneering research in sustainable construction technologies.

Distinguished guests included Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayat, Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore, and Prof. Dr. M. Ilyas, who served as the chief guest. The event was further enriched by the insights of Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, who, in his concluding remarks, praised the efforts of Dr. Qasim Shaukat Khan, the principal investigator, along with Prof. Dr. Asad Ullah Qazi and Prof. Dr. Noor M. Khan for their successful organization of the seminar. The ceremony concluded with Prof. Dr. Farooq distributing shields among the principal investigator, co-principal investigators, and presenters, acknowledging their contributions to this impactful academic endeavor.
