Jamshoro, Japanese Consul General Hattori Masaru visited the University of Sindh in Jamshoro, donating 36 valuable books on Japanese language, culture, and history to the Area Study Center’s library, in an effort to strengthen cultural and academic exchanges between Japan and Pakistan.
According to University of Sindh, the books were provided under the Nippon Foundation’s Red Japan Project during a ceremony attended by university faculty and students. The gift aims to deepen the understanding of Japanese society among the students and scholars at the university. Consul General Masaru emphasized the importance of the Red Japan Project in fostering international relationships and promoting Japanese culture globally.
The Area Study Center’s Director, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Khatwani, acknowledged the ongoing collaboration with the Japanese Consulate, highlighting previous engagements such as the signing of a memorandum with the Pakistan Japan Intellect Forum. This agreement has already facilitated Japanese language courses for over 40 students at the university. Dr. Khatwani expressed gratitude for the book donation, noting its potential to enrich the students’ academic pursuits in Japanese studies.
