Islamabad Hosts Finale of Prime Minister’s Handball Talent League for Women

Islamabad, The International Islamic University (IIU) witnessed the culmination of the Prime Minister’s Youth Talent Hunt Sports Handball (Women) Federal League, a collaborative effort with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), held at the Liaquat Gymnasium within the Islamabad Sports Complex. The event marked the participation of teams from Islamabad, Skardu, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Mirpur, showcasing a high level of skill and sportsmanship. Islamabad secured the first place, followed by Muzaffarabad and Skardu, who claimed the second and third places respectively. The ceremony celebrated the victors with cash rewards, medals, and trophies for their exemplary performances.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the ceremony was graced by Afsheen Akhtar, Project Manager at HEC, alongside Sadia Saleem Cheema, Female Student’s Advisor, and Nadia Mukhtar, Organizing Secretary and Incharge of Sports. The event served not only as a platform for young talent to shine but also highlighted the Prime Minister’s initiative to foster sports among the youth. Organizing Secretary Ms. Nadia Mukhtar extended a warm thank you to the HEC for its support and lauded the initiative for offering a stage for young athletes to demonstrate their capabilities, contributing bright new stars to the country’s sports scene.

Dr. Sadia Saleem commended the players and their managers for their active participation in the league. Special recognition in the form of shields was given to the Guests of Honor and officials for their continuous support, reflecting the community’s appreciation for their dedication. In a gesture of acknowledgment, HEC project managers expressed their gratitude towards IIU for its significant role in ensuring the event’s success and fostering sportsmanship among the teams.
