UVAS Hosts 3rd Pets Gala and Panchi Mela in Lahore

Lahore, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore’s Vets Care Club organized the 3rd Pets Gala and Panchi Mela on its City Campus Main Lawn, drawing a significant turnout of faculty members, students, and pet enthusiasts. The event, aimed at fostering awareness about animal welfare and conservation, featured a diverse array of pets including colorful parrots, owls, various species of dogs and cats, as well as reptiles like snakes, chameleons, mongooses, and turtles.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the gala was inaugurated by Mr. Javaid Iqbal, Chairman of Amanat Dairy Feed, and Ms. Sabahat Rizvi, Ex-General Secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar, alongside UVAS’s retired Associate Professor Dr. Syed Saleem Ahmad and Muhammad Ramzan, President of the Vets Care Club. During the event, Ms. Rizvi emphasized the importance of public education on the welfare, protection, and humane treatment of animals.

Participants at the Pets Gala and Panchi Mela had the opportunity to interact closely with the animals, taking selfies and capturing memorable moments. The event attracted a large crowd of students and children who were keen to experience the beauty of the birds and pets displayed.

The gala concluded with Ms. Humaira Laghari distributing shields to the pet owners who triumphed in the beauty and hygienic competitions, celebrating their commitment to maintaining high standards of animal care. The Pets Gala and Panchi Mela stands as a testament to UVAS’s dedication to promoting animal welfare and conservation education among the public and its student community.
