Lahore, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore inaugurated its 11th Spring Festival 2024 on Monday, marking the beginning of a weeklong celebration filled with various competitions and cultural events. The festival, known for showcasing the talents of students across multiple disciplines, commenced with competitions in Azaan and Hifz-e-Quran, organized by the Qiraat and Naat Society of UVAS Senior Tutor Office.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the first day of the festival saw students from various departments participating in the religious competitions. In the Hifz-e-Quran competition, Hafiza Umama Iqbal, a student of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, clinched the first position. Hafiz Muhammad Shakir, from Mphil Epidemiology, secured the second position, while Ayeshah Kanwel, studying Mphil Veterinary Medicine, came in third. The Azaan competition winners included Abdul Rehman from DVM, who won the first position, followed by Ahmad Ali Khan in second place, and Zain-ul-Abdin from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, who stood third.
The event was graced by the presence of Qari Abdul Ghaffar Daharvee and Qari Faseeh ud Din Aadil as the chief guests, who awarded shields to the winners of the Azaan and Hifz-e-Quran contests. The ceremony was also attended by Prof Dr. Yasin Tipu, Dr. Muhammad Asad Ali, Syed Ahtasham Bukhari, along with a significant number of students, highlighting the university community’s strong participation and interest in the festival’s activities.
