Islamabad, In a stirring address to the National Assembly, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), reflected on the political evolution of Pakistan, recognizing it as reaching a farcical stage and emphasized the need for strengthening democratic institutions. Drawing on his legacy as the third generation from his family to serve as an elected representative, he implored members of the House to reinforce the Assembly as the mother of all institutions, whose fortitude is synonymous with the strength of the people and the federation.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Chairman Bilawal’s address in the Assembly highlighted his concerns about the current state of the democratic journey in Pakistan. He recollected the contributions of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the founder of the PPP and the one who laid the foundation stone of the National Assembly building. He also discussed the disappointing behaviors of members during sessions and the importance of airing the speeches of parliament members live for the transparency and information of the Pakistani people.

Concluding his address, Chairman Bilawal condemned the recent comparison of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto with the cipher issue, asserting his grandfather’s commitment to national security. He also criticized the unconstitutional dissolution of the House during the no-confidence motion and called for respect among politicians and adherence to constitutional domains.
