Karachi, The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi Division has praised the effective measures taken by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and the city government to mitigate rain damage, announcing plans to further expand public services on the directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The commitment was expressed during a visit to various localities within NA 235, including Safora, Sachal, Ahsan Abad, and Sohrab Goth, where party leaders and local body representatives assessed the rain preparedness and relief efforts.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Deputy Secretary Information and Convener Eastern District of PPP Karachi Division, Asif Khan, highlighted the proactive steps taken by Chief Minister Sindh and the local government to protect the citizens from potential rain damage. He noted the mobilization of party leaders and local representatives in Karachi East to provide essential services and ensure effective drainage, which prevented water accumulation on main roads and facilitated citizens’ visits to recreational areas during the rains.
Khan underscored the significant role played by local government representatives in water drainage from low-lying areas, emphasizing their contribution to health and sanitation. The recent rainfall, he remarked, turned out to be a blessing rather than a burden for Karachi, thanks to the organized efforts and the active involvement of PPP officials in regional relief activities under Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s direction.
The PPP’s initiative to create a setup for the provision of public services at the Union Council (UC) level in Karachi reflects a strategic approach to enhance governance and service delivery in line with Bilawal Bhutto’s vision. This announcement signals a commitment to improving the living standards of Karachi’s residents and ensuring a more responsive and effective local government system in the face of environmental challenges and public needs.
