Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Addresses PPP Workers in Shangla, Advocates for Economic Reforms and Youth Employment

Shangla, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, addressed a workers’ convention in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, focusing on the party’s commitment to economic reform, youth employment, and fighting the politics of division. He emphasized the PPP’s dedication to completing the mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and addressing the country’s economic and political challenges.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, Chairman Zardari criticized the current political atmosphere in Pakistan, marked by hate, ego, and division, and the failure of traditional politicians to address pressing issues like inflation, poverty, and unemployment. He highlighted the PPP’s history of helping the country through difficult times and its commitment to providing basic needs (‘Roti, Kapra Aur Makaan’) to the people, viewing poverty and price hikes as the real opponents, not other political parties.

Zardari, who has been active in politics since the age of 19 and served as the youngest Foreign Minister, stated his clean record in politics, free from corruption or wrongdoing. He outlined the PPP’s plan to double wages within five years, emphasizing the party’s past successes in increasing wages and combating poverty.

For the youth, Zardari announced the introduction of the ‘Youth Card’ to facilitate employment opportunities, including paid internships and vocational training. He committed to following in the footsteps of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, providing language training and global work opportunities for Pakistani youth.

Addressing women’s issues, Zardari pledged to continue the legacy of his mother, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, in empowering women. He mentioned expanding the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and providing employment opportunities for women. The PPP plans to build two million houses for flood victims, with land ownership given to women, as part of their ‘Apna Zameen, Apna Ghar’ project.

Zardari called on the people to reject the traditional politics of hate and division and support the PPP’s mission of establishing a ‘rule of the people’. He urged PPP workers to spread the party’s message and manifesto, promising the continuation of the PPP’s conventions and its eventual triumph.
