Lahore, Pakistan Women A and West Indies Women A are gearing up for their upcoming three-match one-day series starting tomorrow in Lahore. This series will be followed by a T20 tri-series that will also feature Thailand’s emerging team. West Indies Women A’s maiden tour to Pakistan includes matches to be held at Gaddafi Stadium and Ghani Institute for Cricket over the next week.
According to a news release by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the toss for each one-day match will occur at 8:30 am with the first ball scheduled for 9:00 am. Fans worldwide will be able to follow the games via live streaming on PCB’s official YouTube channel.
The decision on the members of Pakistan Women A’s team was made post evaluation of 28 players who participated in the probables camp at the Lahore Country Club in Muridke. Rameen Shamim, an off-spinner who has played in three ODIs and four T20Is, will captain Pakistan Women A. She had previously led the team in a triumphant tour of West Indies in 2021. Notably, the squad also includes other internationally recognized players such as Gull Feroza, Omaima Sohail, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Sidra Nawaz, and Tuba Hassan.
Moreover, promising talents Eyman Fatima and Anosha Nasir, who represented Pakistan in the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup and emerged as top performers, are part of the squad. In a recent interaction with PCB Digital, Captain Rameen Shamim expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and shared her excitement about leading the side during a home series.
On the other hand, Rashada Williams, the captain of West Indies Women A, conveyed her pride in representing her team and assessed the playing conditions following their practice at the NCA.
