Dr. Fauzia Janjua Assumes Role as Dean of FLL at IIUI

Islamabad, 17 Oct 2023:Dr. Fauzia Janjua has been named the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Literature at the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). Prior to her new role, Dr. Janjua, a Tenured Professor in IIUI’s Department of English, has supervised numerous MS and Ph.D. students, guiding them to successful completion of their theses.

With a Ph.D. in English Linguistics from the National University of Modern Languages and a post-doctorate from the University of North Carolina, USA, Dr. Janjua’s academic accomplishments are manifold. She has also successfully completed the Ruqaiya Hassan Online SFL course for Pakistani Teachers from the Halliday Centre for Intelligent Applications of Language Studies, Hong Kong.

Professor Janjua’s research primarily centers around Sociolinguistics, Discourse Analysis, Systemic Functional Linguistics, Eco-linguistics, and ELT. Throughout her academic career, she has authored four books and three book chapters on linguistics and research, with two books currently awaiting publication. Additionally, her notable contributions include numerous national and international publications. She has secured two research projects from HEC, Pakistan.
