Lahore: In a significant accomplishment for Punjab University, an updated evaluation by Stanford University, California, has enlisted four additional faculty members among the world’s top 2 percent of researchers, elevating the total count to 47. This list, crafted by Prof John Ioannidis and his team, encompasses the top 100,000 scientists globally, spanning various disciplines from higher education institutions worldwide.
The distinguished roster of Punjab University scholars includes Dean of Science Dr. Muhammad Saeed Akram, recognized in Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing, and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood, noted for his contributions in Information and Library Sciences. The list also highlights Dr. Munawar Aqeel Iqbal for Chemical Physics, Dr. Samar Rahi in Business and Management, and Dr. Talat Islam in the same field, among others across diverse specialties such as Chemical Engineering, Nuclear and Particle Physics, and Optoelectronics and Photonics.
