MoU was signed between IUB and Nepali educational institutions for the promotion of Chinese medical treatment

Bahawalpur, June 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Bahawalpur (PR): A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Nepali educational institutions for the promotion of Chinese medical treatment. The University College of Conventional Medicine the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Nepal Educational Institutions Safal Health Home Private Limited and Acupuncture, Moxibustion Acupressure Association Nepal have agreed on mutual cooperation in acupuncture, noxibustion acupressure, pain management and related fields through a memorandum of understanding signed at Bahawalpur. The memorandum was signed by the Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob and Director of Safal Health Home Bishal Shrestha.

Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar Dean Faculty of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Pir Alam Sher Khan, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Asif Principal University College of Conventional Medicine and senior teachers were present on this occasion. According to the agreement, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Nepali institutions will cooperate in teaching and research of Chinese medicine. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur will promote acupuncture, moxibustion, and acupressure and related medical fields. Joint seminars and conferences will be organized. An acupuncture training centre will be established at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Provision of medical equipment, videos, and other materials will be ensured to facilitate research and teaching. Research results and other information will be shared.

It is significant that the College of Conventional Medicine, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, is extensively working on the promotion of Eastern Medicine, Unani Medicine, and Homeopathy as well as Chinese medicine. Faculty of Allied Health Sciences was established three years ago under the direction of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. This led to the promotion of education and efficiency in Eastern Medicine and other fields in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

Three days training for Deputy Wardens, Assistant Wardens and Admin Officers of University Hostels, IUB

Bahawalpur, June 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Under the auspices of Hall Council Islamia University Bahawalpur, a three-day training workshop was organized to increase the professional capacity of the Warden and other administrative staff. Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob specially participated in the concluding session of the training workshop and distributed certificates to the staff members who completed the training. The Vice-Chancellor said that the professional training of the hostel staff is very important. In this regard, the organization of this workshop by Chairman Hall Council Mail Dr. Faheem Mushtaq and Chairman Hall Council Mail Prof. Dr. Nasreen Akhtar is very welcome.

Dr. Faheem Mushtaq said in a special briefing that the purpose of this training program was to provide awareness about staff professionalism, work performance, discipline, customer services and rules and regulations. Besides food safety, mess related issues, security and safety and first aid in case of emergency and training was given on psychological problems of students, team work and other issues. Family Law Orientation Course for Lawyers Concludes at Shariah Academy

Islamabad, June 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): A two-day family law orientation courses for the lawyers of Islamabad conducted by Shariah Academy of International Islamic University (IIU) concluded here on Wednesday at the Faisal Masjid campus of university. Around 400 lawyers from Islamabad participated in this course, who were trained on important topics by scholars of the academy and other eminent legal experts. DG Shariah Academy Dr. Farkhanda Zia, former DG Shariah Academy Dr. Tahir Mansoori and eminent personalities of the legal community were also present in the concluding ceremony.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the course as the chief guest, the President of International Islamic University, Dr. Hathal Hamoud Alotaibi, said that the family is the most important unit of the society, the best family life has positive effects on the society. He said that Islam emphasizes on justice in family life, Islam teaches to focus on mutual tolerance, sincerity and happiness in family life. He said that nowadays there is an urgent need to organize family life in the light of Islamic teachings instead of imitating west. President IIU said that the role of the legal fraternity is important in the society, lawyers should use their profession positively in solving the cases of family life in the light of the path indicated by the Holy Quran.

He said that in view of the sanctity of profession, the attitude of sharing happiness in the society should be adopted as this is the spirit of religion. H.E. Dr. Hathal said that the message of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is based on protecting the sanctity of humanity. He said that we need to fulfill our responsibilities in our respective professions in a good way because this is the solution to end the problems of the society. He praised the Shariah Academy for organizing the course and also appreciated the role of the Academy in serving the society. He said that courses for judges, scholars, muftis and lawyers from the platform of Shariah Academy is commendable.

Talking about the recent progress of university, he said that under the new strategic plan, the university is on new paths of development and in less than 3 years, the university has come to a prominent position in the world rankings. He said that the Shariah Academy is following a new vision with more zeal. He added that the academy has recently organized an online course on fatwa teachings, while a post-doc fellowship will also be launched in the next few months. The IIUI President said that the university is taking steps on priority basis for scholarships. He thanked President Islamabad Bar and Bar Council for their support and cooperation in the course. In the end, he also expressed his best wishes for the progress of Pakistan.

Three-Day Workshop On Seerah Studies Commences in Balochistan Organized by Regional Dawah Center Karachi

Islamabad, June 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Regional Dawah Center (Sindh), Karachi, in collaboration with Darul Uloom Zakariya Shaldara, Balochistan conducted a comprehensive three-day workshop titled “Studying Seerah”. The workshop aims to provide participants with a chronological understanding of Seerah of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and highlights its relevance to today’s society. As many as a hundred teachers, scholars, students from various educational levels, and individuals from diverse backgrounds are participating in the workshop. As per details the workshop emphasizes on studying Seerah of Holy Prophet (PBUH) in a structured manner as the course intends to equip attendees with valuable lessons from the Seerah to apply to the present-day context.

On this occasion, Mufti Afzal Kasi Mehtamm Afzal Al Madaris, addressing the workshop participants, acknowledged the wide-ranging services offered by the Da’wah Academy and its valuable contributions. He expressed satisfaction in collaborating with the Dawah Center in Karachi, saying it has always catered to their training needs. He particularly commended Dr. Syed Aziz ur Rahman for his expertise in the field of Seerah and expressed gratitude in launching this three-day workshop, the first of its kind in Balochistan. Mufti Kasi hoped that the workshop series would continue in the future.

Dr. Syed Aziz ur Rahman, the In-charge of Regional Dawah Center (Sindh), Karachi, emphasized the indispensability of studying the seerah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for a deeper understanding of the Qur’an, Sunnah, and Shariah. During the inaugural ceremony of the workshop Dr. Aziz ur Rahman expressed the need for all individuals to engage in such learning opportunities, as they play a vital role in fostering a love for reading and knowledge.

Dr. Aziz further said that this workshop promises to be an enlightening experience, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds to gain a comprehensive understanding of seerah e tayyaba and its practical application in today’s society. Through collaborative efforts and the sharing of knowledge, this event aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the Seerah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

PU athletes win medals in National Games Quetta

Lahore, June 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Punjab University athletes have participated in the National Games held in Quetta and showcased their talent and represented Higher Education Commission with great pride in the 2022-23 season. PU’s female athletes Amina Azmat got silver medal in Basketball, Shumaila Allah Ditta, Fizza Sarwer and Rukhsar Mumtaz clinched Bronze Medal in Softball, Syeda Nida Fatima won Bronze Medal in Karate (70-Kg) while in Table Tennis Minahil grabbed Bronze Medalas well.

In Boxing (40-Kg) competition Sajiha got Bronze Medal, Mishal Waeen, Sehar Waeen and Aman Javed in Judo (-40 Kg), (52-Kg) and (70-Kg) category grabbed Silver Medal and Bronze Medal respectively. In Archery Nighat grabbed Silver Medal while Sunaina, Noor Us Saba and Nadia Ayesha got Bronze and Silver Medals in Relay and Shot Put competitions. Mafia Parveen, Tehreem Alam Mir, Noor Us Saba, Shumaila Ahmed, Aman Javed, Amina Haleem, Amina Shahazad, Nimra, Tehleel Fatima, Safa and Zeba Nawab in Handball won Bronze Medal. In Football team event Sehar Afzal, Mafia Parveen, Mahnoor Afzal and Tehleel Fatima got Bronze Medal while in Volleyball team event Farah, Fizza, Zeba and Zaiba Nawab also clinched Bronze Medal. In cycling competition Ayesha, Uswa, Adeen and Aqsa Ahmed got Bronze Medal as well.

Meanwhile, in male athletics’ Boxing competition Asmat Ullah and Muhammad Zafar in (57-Kg) and (48-Kg) got bronze medal while Samiullah and Muhammad Asad got Bronze medal in relay race. In various competitions of Rowing Gohar, Hammad, Rauf, Adil and Abdullah collectively grabbed 10 Bronze Medals. In Badminton team event Tayab Shafiq, Hamza Khan and Rana Amraiz Khalid got Bronze Medal as well. Punjab University Director Sports Prof Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Butt said that the event not only celebrated the exceptional abilities of the players but also highlighted the importance of sports and physical fitness in the overall development of individuals and the nation as a whole.

He said that the opening ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. In closing ceremony, President of Pakistan Mr Arif Alvi presented prizes to the well-deserved winners of the tournament, among them a notable contingent of star players from PU proudly represented the Higher Education Commission in the National Games. He congratulated the athletes to earn fame for PU and the sports dependent as well. He said that PU would continue to play its role for the promotion of sports in the country. He thanked Dr Khalid Mahmood for his support.
