UVAS VC inaugurates ‘Bao Arif Residential Block’

Lahore, June 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad inaugurated ‘Bao Arif Residential Block’ here in (UVAS Staff Colony) City Campus on Wednesday. The newly established residential block comprised of 24 residences (quarters) for 01 to 04 grade employees and each quarter is comprised of two spacious rooms along with attached bath and kitchen with all necessary facilities. This project is completed in two years and cost Rs 35 million.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad said that UVAS always is striving hard to provide a comfortable accommodation to employees. He advised all the allottees to keep this residential block neat and clean and follow the rules and regulation. He also reviewed the quality of work and facilities. He acknowledged the collective effort of UVAS Building and Works Department and Estate Management for the smoothly completion of this project.

Later a ceremony held at UVAS Syndicate room, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad distributed keys among 24 allotees of quarters. Principal Officer Students Affairs Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Registrar Sajjad Hyder, Project Director Mr Shahnwaz Bukhari, President Non-Teaching Staff Association (NTSA) Mr Asad Shah, Senior Vice President (NTSA) Mr Javed Iqbal and a large number of staff members were present on the occasion.

The newly established residential block associated with former President Non-Teaching Staff Association (NTSA) Mr Muhammad Arif (Late) to recognize his outstanding services for the UVAS employees, who died on November 20, 2020.

The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) is a prestigious university offering various scholarships for international students worldwide. Muhammad Sami Siddiqui, PhD Scholar of Mathematical Sciences department, successfully defended his PhD thesis titled ‘Stability Analysis and Approximation Methods for Euler’s Elastica Problem’. The thesis was supervised by Dr. Abdul Majid, Assistant Professor, Mathematical Sciences department. Professors Sultan Sial from LUMS, and Nouman Raza from the University of Punjab, Lahore were the External Examiners. Dr. Hisham Bin Zubair, Chairperson, Mathematical Sciences department chaired the session.

A global approach for academic excellence TUF signs MOU with URS, Philippines

Faisalabad, June 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): To broaden its horizon of professional education and research activities, The University of Faisalabad (TUF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The University of Rizal System (URS), Philippines. Signing of MoU and Virtual Document Exchange Ceremony held on June 6, 2023.

Dr Nancy Talavera Pascual, President, URS and Prof (Meritorious) Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, Rector TUF signed the agreement. According to this MOU, both the institutions agreed to establish a formal affiliation for the purpose of enhancing the relationship between TUF and URS through the promotion and development of collaborative research, academic and exchange programs. TUF and URS anticipate that such activities may include, exchange of academic staff and researchers, exchange of students, collaborative research and joint academic meetings and projects, development of educational and training programs, workshops, seminars and cultural activities.

Dr Allan E. Conde, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr Renato F. Delemon, Vice-President for Administration and Finance, Dr Marites M. Rio, Vice-President for Research Development, Extension and Production from URS while Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, Prof Dr Khawaja Adeel Tariq, Director ORIC and Dr Amna Javed, Head International Linkages from TUF also witnessed the ceremony. Rector TUF congratulated the faculty members of both universities and expressed that this agreement holds great potential for joint research projects and other academic initiatives in the years to come.
