Karachi, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): The meeting of Pakistan People’s Party Core Committee was held on Friday evening at Zardari House Islamabad which was jointly chaired by President of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. In this meeting, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Syed Nair Hussain Bukhari, Naveed Qamar, Raza Rabbani, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Sherry Rehman, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Shazia Atta Murri, Nisar Khoro, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, Humayun Khan, Faisal. Karim Kundi, Akhunzada Chitan and Farhatullah Babar participated. In a statement, Secretary General of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Farhatullah Babar said that it was emphasized in the meeting that closing the doors of negotiations does not solve any problem.

For this purpose, the party has decided to contact all the parties involved in the coalition government and take a common position on the point of negotiation among the political parties. Lahore, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz inaugurated First Ramzan Sports Series 2023 by playing a shot at the grand colourful opening ceremony at Mini Hockey Stadium on Friday night. Commissioner Lahore Ch Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, Assistant Commissioner Model Town Sahibzada Yousaf and Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan were also present at the mega opening ceremony.

Pakistan’s all-format cricket skipper Babar Azam, leading cricketers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Salman Butt and Usman Qadir also attended the opening ceremony. Besides them, Divisional Sports Officer Lahore Tariq Khanzada, Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Deputy Director Tariq Wattoo, District Sports Officer Lahore Tanveer Shah and all Divisional Sports Officers were also present at the venue. Over one hundred players from all divisions under the leadership of their respective DSOs took part in march past in the opening ceremony. Olympian Tauqeer Dar took oath from all the participating athletes before the commencement of competitions. The First Ramzan Sports Series 2023 is being organised from April 7 to 11, 2023 on the directions of Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The teams from all divisions are participating in the competitions of hockey, football, kabaddi, badminton and table tennis whereas 12 teams of Lahore cricket clubs are competing in the tape ball cricket event during Ramzan Sports Series.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that the First Ramzan Sports Series 2023 is a mega event and it is being organized for the first time in the history of Punjab province. “We are quite upbeat to find several fresh talented players from the Ramzan Sports Series. A hefty amount of Rs 85,50,000 will be distributed in the shape of prize money among all prominent performers of the grand event,” he added. Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that hockey is our national game and that’s why we have allocated a huge amount for the prize money of the hockey event. “On the instructions of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, a beautiful festival of Ramazan Sports Series has been organized. The role of sports is very important in building a healthy society”.

He said that no money is being spent from the public treasury for organizing the first Ramazan Sports Series 2023. “All the events are being organized with the support of the private sector. The private sector is fully cooperating with Sports Board Punjab for the development and promotion of sports. I am especially grateful to Parkway City, Nadeem Umar of Quetta Gladiator, Al-Kabeer Town, Ghaus Garden, Umar Associates and Kingdom Valley for sponsoring the grand event”. The captain of the national cricket team Babar Azam while talking to the media, said that the first Ramazan Sports Series is a great initiative of the government. “It is a good effort to promote sports, the restoration of hockey is very important, for which we all must work together”. Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi said that new talent will emerge from the first Ramazan Sports Series and such events should be conducted regularly.

Pakistan People’s Party Core Committee deliberates on the current situation in Pakistan

Karachi, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): A meeting of the core committee of the PPP was held Thursday evening in Zardari House Islamabad presided over by President PPPP Mr. Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman PPP Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and attend by the following. Yousuf Raza Gillani, Nayyer Bukhari, Naveed Qamar, Raza Rabbani, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Sherry Rehman, CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Shazia Marri, Nisar Khuro, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, Humayun Khan, Faisal Karim Kundi, Akhunzada Chattan and Farhatullah Babar.

In a statement secretary general of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting stressed that shutting the door dialogue is not the solution. For this purpose, the Party decided to approach all the parties in the coalition government for taking a joint position on the issue of dialogue among the political parties. The Party said that the crisis was the result of numerous reasons not the least of which is the insistence that minority verdict should take precedence over the majority court verdict. This position is untenable legally, morally and politically and needs to be reviewed.

He said that the meeting also of the view that it was imperative that the honor and prestige of the judiciary was not allowed to be impaired in any way. To achieve this, it is essential that numerous apparently conflicting verdicts of the Honourable Court are resolved expeditiously. The Party believes that in the interest of fair and free elections general elections to all assemblies be held on the same day on a date provided for the in the Constitution. The Party reiterated that it will not countenance any delay in the holding of elections beyond the mandate date in the Constitution, he said.

Pakistan team management for New Zealand series

Commentary panel for Pak vs NZ series announced

Lahore, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Pakistan Cricket Board has unveiled the seven-member commentary panel for the five T20 Internationals and as many One-Day Internationals to be played between Pakistan and New Zealand from 14 April till 7 May. Bazid Khan, Grant Elliot, Kyle Mills (T20Is), Lisa Sthalekar (ODIs), Mark Butcher (ODIs), Sikander Bakht and Urooj Mumtaz will call action across the 10 limited overs matches in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi.

Renowned presenter Zainab Abbas will host pre- and post-match shows, including Pitch Side that will continue to bring in-depth analysis for cricket fans. Twenty-seven full High-Definition cameras will beam live action around the globe through PCB’s broadcast partners. The production set-up includes complete Hawkeye review system, buggy cam and Spidercam, which is available for three T20Is in Lahore and three ODIs in Karachi. New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan in the wee hours of 11 April. The two teams will play first three of the five T20Is in Lahore. Rawalpindi will host the last two T20Is and the first two ODIs, before the action moves to the port-city of Karachi, which hosts last three ODIs.

The broadcast of the white-ball series will be available through PTV Sports on Linear TV. The matches will be live-stream on ARY Zap, Vidly.tv, Tamasha and Tapmad within Pakistan and on PCB YouTube Channel outside Pakistan. Etisalat (Middle-East and North Africa), Flow Sports (Caribbean), Sky NZ (New Zealand), Fox Sports (Australia), Sky Sports (United Kingdom), Sony (South Asia outside Pakistan), Super Sports (Sub-Saharan Africa) and Willow TV (North America) will broadcast matches internationally.
