Bahawalpur, February 15, 2023 (PPI-OT):Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob has said that Bahawalpur Trade Fair will soon take the form of an international event. The Vice Chancellor expressed these views while addressing the closing ceremony of the 4th Bahawalpur Trade Fair organized by Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Islamia University Bahawalpur and district administration on the occasion of 18th Cholistan International Desert Jeep Rally.

On this occasion, President Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali Mann, Senior Vice President Hanif Ahmed, Vice President Adeel Khalid, Secretary Gymkhana Malik Ijaz Nazim, Former Presidents Chaudhry Abdul Jabbar, Chaudhry Javed Iqbal, Focal Person Professor Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha. Secretary Gymkhana Malik Ejaz Nazim said that Bahawalpur Gymkhana is also participating in Bahawal Portrait Fair and is a part of this excellent activity.

Bahawalpur, February 15, 2023 (PPI-OT):The third international conference titled Public Policy and Good Governance in the present era has started under the auspices of the Department of Political Science, Islamia University, Bahawalpur. The conference was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan Professor Dr. Mansoor Akbar Kundi, former Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan Professor Dr. Khawaja Alkamah, Director of Faculty of Public Policy Rafa International University Islamabad Dr. Rashid Aftab were specially present.

Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob said in his address that organizing a conference on the most important topic by the Department of Political Science is a good initiative. He said that the role of academia is very important for good governance which can solve the challenges faced in this regard by formulating principles of governance based on policy. On this occasion, political science and governance experts the presence will inform the faculty and students about the latest developments in the field. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Dr. Rubina Bhatti said that the subject of governance is of great importance both nationally and globally and has very important implications in social and economic development.

Chairman of the Department of Political Science Prof. Dr. Maswar Hussain Bukhari said that 5 international conferences have been organized under the auspices of this department. On the occasion of this conference, the presence of domestic and foreign delegates and the challenges of governance in the present era, public service delivery, local governments, delays, links in federal units, public policy during the epidemic, regional cooperation and collaboration, gender issues, The importance of innovation in the digital age, human rights, justice and strong institutions are among the most important topics. Dr. Shakeel Akhtar, focal person of the conference, said that good governance is very important for democratic societies nowadays and based on it. Policy is made.
