Career Services Office Organized Recruitment Drive in Collaboration with Al-Meezan Investment Limited 

Islamabad, February 13, 2023 (PPI-OT):Career Services Office has organized an on-campus recruitment drive on February 10, 2023 with Al-Meezan Investment Limited, a leading Investment company, for the graduates of Capital University of Science and Technology Islamabad. The students of 8th semester from the departments of; Management Sciences, Accounting and Finance, Psychology and Mathematics, and the most recent graduates from same departments appeared for the interview.

The total of 71 graduates of the Capital University registered for the recruitment drive while 26 appeared in interview and 23 finally shortlisted for further process of hiring.

DG IPO Pakistan Shazia Adnan visits UVAS 

Lahore, February 13, 2023 (PPI-OT):Director General Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan Ms Shazia Adnan along with Deputy Director Moeed and Assistant Controller of Patents Ms Shakra Khurshid paid a visit to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad at City Campus on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Shazia Adnan acknowledged the UVAS quality of education and research work of faculty members for the benefit of community. She spoke about IPO initiatives, digitalization, online hearing of queries, procedures and time duration for attaining of intellectual property rights/patent filing for the assistance of applicants. She said patent is necessary for the commercialization of research. She said IPO always willing for the assistance of UVAS in enhancing linkages.

Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad briefed Ms Shazia on the UVAS academic, research, extension, advisory services and training programmes. He showed a UVAS video documentary to Ms Shazia to give an overview of UVAS research ongoing projects of faculty won from national and international funding agencies, development interventions, achievements in curricular and extra-curricular activities, student strength and with national and international collaboration, etc.

Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad also mentioned the contribution of UVAS flood relief activities in the worst flood affected areas of Pakistan for the help of flood victims by providing them daily routine necessary items related to food, animal feed and goods in a transparent manner. Local production enhancing is our focus area for research, he added. Later, the DG IPO visited various laboratories and department of City Campus including Biosafety level-3 lab, Meat Processing Plant and Quality Operation Lab etc.

Need Based Scholarship Award List for fall, 2022

We hope for justice from the courts, we will fight retaliatory actions: Ch Musa Elahi

Lahore, February 13, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Gujranwala Special Anti-Terrorism Court and Gujrat Sessions Court have extended the interim bail of National Assembly candidate Chaudhry Musa Elahi till February 23 in different cases. A case has been registered against Chaudhry Musa Elahi and former federal minister Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain in Karianwala police station.

Later speaking to the media along with Barrister Salman Safdar Advocate, Ch Musa Elahi said that our political opponents have accused us of firing on the PML-N leader through an advertisement, at which time they filed a case against me and my father, we were at our residence in Lahore at that time.
He said that we are not afraid of reprisals, we only hope for justice from the courts and will fight the retaliations, the actions of the rulers will strengthen our intentions.

He said that the caretaker government should not delay the election, the people know it, whatever they want, and we have faith in our courts that the election will be held on time. He said that including terrorism provisions in political cases is condemnable.

Governor and Election Commission should stop playing football on date issue and give election date immediately: Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, February 13, 2023 (PPI-OT):Former Federal Minister for Defense Parvez Khattak met with former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi. Bao Rizwan and Hafiz Mumtaz also participated in the meeting. In the meeting, political situation and Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections were discussed.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that there is no justification for delaying the date of the election after the court decision, the judiciary stands with the supremacy of the constitution, violation of the constitution will not be tolerated, and the election commission should release the schedule of the immediate election while fulfilling its responsibility. The Governor and Election Commission should stop playing football on the issue of election date. Ch Parvez Elahi said that the nation is seeing how PDM is afraid of the election, no one will be allowed to violate the constitution.

Former Federal Minister of Defense Parvez Khattak said that the popularity of Imran Khan has made the ruler sleepless. It is the constitutional responsibility of the Election Commission and the governors to schedule the election. All the retaliation actions and the cases cannot stop the pathway of Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Punjab University marks Babar’s Day

Lahore, February 13, 2023 (PPI-OT):Ambassador of Uzbekistan Aybek Arif Usmanov said that Zaheer-ur-din Muhammad Babar’s personality and legacy is well known all over the world and for sure deserved to be in one place and tiers with great scholars as Abu Raihan Beruni, Abu Ali Ibn Sina, Al-Faraby, Al-Khwarazmy, Mirza Ghalib, Allama Muhammad Iqbal who are considered as a common heritage of Islamic cultural renaissance, science and knowledge. He was addressing a seminar on ‘Babur: A Symbol of Shared Legacy between Pakistan and Uzbekistan’ to celebrate 540th birthday of Zaheer-ur-din Babur. The seminar was organized by Punjab University Department of History and Pakistan Studies Babur Legacy Center in collaboration with the Embassy of Uzbekistan here on Monday.

On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Dr Amra Raza, chairman Department of History Prof Dr Mehboob Hussain, Director Babur Legacy Center Prof Dr Rukhsana Iftikhar, diplomats, faculty members and a large number of students were present. In his address, Arif Usmanov said that the President and the people of Uzbekistan are grateful for honouring Babur’s legacy and enrichment of our political and cultural ties and enforcing our scientific and people to people contacts. He said that in 2021, more than 70 art pieces and paintings were displayed in the Art Exhibition and the Art’s contest at PU, not just attracted the attention of the common public but strengthening our re-connectivity.

He thanked the PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhter, Chairman Department of History and Pakistan Studies Dr Mehboob, Dr Rukhsana Iftikhar and others who made noble efforts for conducting a successful event to pay tribute to Zaheer-ur-din Babur. Dr Mehboob said that South Asia and Central Asia are two geographical regions which share a history of mutual relations dating back to ancient times.

He said that hundreds of poets, writers, Sufis, Ulama, artists and common people migrated from Central Asia to South Asia. He said that both the regions have been considered the part of earliest civilizations of the World. He said that amongst all the countries of Central Asia, Uzbekistan occupies a pride of place as it is the region where most of the centers of Muslim culture and learning are located.

These common cultural heritage needs to be explored and academic exchange and collaboration is the need of the hour, he added. Dr Amra Raza said that the youth should be taught to keep the history in front of them and choose the current leaders. She said that Zaheer-ud-din Babar was a soldier and poet and we get many lessons from his life. Dr Rukhsana Iftikhar said that Punjab University Department of History and Pakistan Studies Babur Legacy Center will continue to organize events to highlight various aspects of Zaheer-ud-din Babur’s personality in the future. Lt. Col. (r) Khalid Taimur Akram, Prof Dr Faraz Anjum, Dr Hasan Baig from Scotland and Uzbek scholar Muhayo Abdurahman also spoke on the occasion.
