The Institute of Continuing Education and Extension holds Extension Leadership Development workshop at UVAS Ravi Campus 

Lahore, January 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Institute of Continuing Education and Extension (ICE and E) arranged ‘First Extension Leadership Development Workshop’ at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore’s Ravi Campus Pattoki. The objectives of the workshop were the capacity building of participants on whole farming system, rural development, extension approaches and various innovative teaching tools and communication skills.

Director (ICE and E) Dr Hassan Mahmood Warraich chaired the inaugural session of extension leadership development workshop while 25 faculty members from Livestock Assistant Diploma (LAD) affiliated institutes from (Layya, Jhang, and Pattoki) and students were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hassan Mahmood Warraich said that multidisciplinary approach in the extension education is the only way to improve farmer livelihood and their profitability as well. Research Manager Ms Humera Iqbal and Abdul Aziz facilitated to conduct this workshop to support participants understanding on creative facilitation methods and livestock assistant role in extension.

As a follow-up of each training workshop participants will initiate extension program around 10-15 villages of each respective LAD affiliated institute. The faculty members and their students will provide improved farm advisory services to farmers in different villages to improve the productivity and profitability of livestock farmers. A framework was also provided to the participants to improve their scientific writing skills as well. Various aspects discussed during workshop related to latest technical knowledge regarding animal husbandry and communication skills and scientific writing tools.

Amongst different working professionals, Pakistanis have the most confidence in those working in the army as 87% report having at least some level of confidence in those working in the army: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, January 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, amongst different working professionals, Pakistanis have the most confidence in those working in the army as 87% report having at least some level of confidence in those working in the army.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “Please indicate how confident you are in the following?”

When asked about lawyers, 17% said they’re completely confident, 27% said they are somewhat confident, 11% reported slight confidence while 32% said they are not at all confident in lawyers whereas 14% did not respond or said that they did not know.

When asked about doctors, 43% said they’re completely confident, 33% said they are somewhat confident, 11% reported slight confidence while 11% said they are not at all confident in doctors while 1% did not respond or said that they did not know.

When asked about scientists, 32% said they’re completely confident, 29% said they are somewhat confident, 7% reported slight confidence while 25% said they are not at all confident in scientists while 7% did not respond or said that they did not know.

When asked about teachers, 52% said they’re completely confident, 32% said they are somewhat confident, 6% reported slight confidence while 9% said they are not at all confident in teachers while 1% did not respond or said that they did not know.

When asked about government ministers, 13% said they’re completely confident, 23% said they are somewhat confident, 17% reported slight confidence while 43% said they are not at all confident in Government Ministers while 4% did not respond or said that they did not know.

When asked about politicians, 13% said they’re completely confident, 20% said they are somewhat confident, 18% reported slight confidence while 44% said they are not at all confident in politicians while 5% did not respond or said that they did not know.

When asked about property dealers, 12% said they’re completely confident, 21% said they are somewhat confident, 17% reported slight confidence while 31% said they are not at all confident in property dealers whereas 19% did not respond or said that they did not know.

When asked about those working in the army, 64% said they’re completely confident, 20% said they are somewhat confident, 3% reported slight confidence while 9% said they are not at all confident in those working in the army whereas 4% did not respond or said that they did not know.

Certificate Awarding Ceremony for IUB Students Societies (Term 2022) and Special Session with Dr M Affan Qaiser

Bahawalpur, January 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):Directorate of Students Affairs, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized the ceremony of distributing certificates to the office bearers of the student societies of the year 2022 held at Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob was the chief guest of the event.

Renowned motivational speaker Dr. Muhammad Affan Qaiser also participated on this occasion, who gave a special lecture to the students on the topic of highlighting their leadership skills and preparing a plan for the future.

Dr. Azhar Hussain, representing the Directorate of Student Affairs, said that on the special instructions of the Vice-Chancellor, student societies were established in the university in order to highlight leadership among students and to play a useful role in the society by becoming active professionals.

The establishment of these student societies started in the year 2019. At present 29 student societies are functioning where students organize various activities based on their themes and full support and guidance is provided by the Directorate of Students.

Dr. Azhar Hussain thanked Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob for special support and patronage in the establishment of student societies and their activities. At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed among the officials in the presence of the advisor of the student societies.
